SFC Richard Donald Wyman II, ARMY (Ret)

July 2, 1958 — September 15, 2022

Richard Donald Wyman II, 64, of Clarksville, TN, passed peacefully on Thursday, September 15, 2022.

Just like he dealt with all experiences, Richard managed his early-onset Alzheimer’s with such an inspiration and a fight filled with strength and willpower. The son of a career-Marine, Richard was born on July 2, 1958, in Honolulu, Hawaii, lived briefly in California, and grew up in New Jersey. At the age of 18 he joined the United States Army where he would devote the next 20 years to serving and protecting his family and our country working in aviation with the 101 St. Airborne Division and Special Forces units.

Richard was a veteran who served in two wars and received many medals, accommodations, and promotions in his career. He received multiple Bronze Stars and Meritorious Service Medals. He held various roles to include: Helicopter Mechanics, Aviation, Jump School, Special Intelligence, and Border Patrol Specialist.

Richard retired as a Sergeant First Class after 20+ years of active duty (sooner than he expected) to be the 24/7 caretaker of his daughter, Aleshia. He provided her with such care and unconditional love. Their bond was so special and heartwarming to witness. He was a loving and devoted husband and father to his children. His personal heroics and loving sacrifice deserve more medals than all those he received in service to his country.

Richard was a “go getter” with a can do if there is a will there is a way attitude and approach to life. Richard had many talents. He and his father always had a passion for hot rods and Richard loved to build and paint cars. He enjoyed watching action movies and football games, his grandson’s baseball games,
and working out in the yard.

He is preceded in death by his parents Richard and Margaret; wife, Linda; and daughter, Aleshia. He is survived by his daughters: Diania (Tommy) Clark, Stephanie Linamen, and Misty (Kyle) Allen; son, Richard Wyman; sister, Deborah (Paul) Gallo; and grandchildren: Dalton, Jakeob, Abigail, Landen, and
Logan.

A special Thank You to family and friends and the people at Kindred Hospice, Barton House, and Brookdale for their loving care and support.

“We remember their love when they can no longer remember.” We are comforted in knowing that Richard Wyman II is in heaven above watching over all of us as our guardian angel now.
