Philip Corbin Mason III

February 22, 1960 — January 17, 2022

Philip Corbin Mason III, age 61, passed away on January 17, 2022 at his home. He was born on February 22, 1960 in Philadelphia, PA to Philip Corbin Mason II and Harriett Elizabeth Wellfield Mason.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Donna Wagner. Philip is survived by his wife of 33 years, Karen Goff; daughters, Erin Riess and Renee Mason; son, Joshua Mason; sisters, Lorrie Liquori and Carol Bobbitt; and 7 grandchildren.

Being Philadelphia born, Phil was a die-hard Eagles, Flyers, and Phillies fan. Sports were one of his greatest loves. He watched, followed, coached, and played just about every sport out there. Over the years, he enjoyed fishing and excelled in softball. He had numerous mentions in the Leaf-Chronicle for his pitching ability in the 90s until doctor's orders forced him into retirement.

In 1987, he met his wife, Karen Goff and together they had son, Joshua, and daughter, Renee. He enjoyed making his own spaghetti sauce, tuna salads, hot roast beef sandwiches, sauerkraut and hot dogs, and grilling anything for family and for those he considered his family. He never turned neighborhood kids away that needed a meal, a bit of advice, a shoulder to cry on, or a safe place to crash. Over the years, he wore many hats to care for his family including: machinist, welder, handyman, and liquor salesman.

A memorial service is tentatively scheduled for February 6, 2022. Details about the service will be updated soon.
