1961-2020

Mickey Wayne Barker Sr., 58, of Hopkinsville, KY passed away in his home on February 24,2020  after a short 5 month battle with stage IV glioblastoma brain cancer.

He was born on October 28, 1961 in South Williamson, KY to the late Stella Marie and Vaughn Barker. Mickey was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, friend, and Marine.

Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Pansy Jo Barker of Hopkinsville, KY; his children, Mickey Barker Jr. of Mountain View, AR, Sammy and Wade Wedeking of Hopkinsville, KY, and Patricia Barker of West Jefferson, NC; his grandchildren, Victoria Duncan of West Jefferson, NC and Danielle And Dylon  Poole of Hopkinsville, KY; his great grandson, Bentley Poole of Hopkinsville, KY; his father in law, Richard Cegelis of West Jefferson, NC; as well as several brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews.

It is Mickey’s wishes to be cremated and his remains to be kept with his beloved wife Pansy. In lieu of funeral services, please celebrate Mickey’s life by sending donations to The Rosie Foundation, a foundation whose mission is to provide awareness for brain cancer as well as comfort and support to brain cancer survivors, warriors, caretakers, and their families.  They can be located on Facebook.
