Louis Ramey

December 5, 1938 — March 26, 2022

Louis Ramey, 83, was called home on March 26, 2022. He was born on December 5, 1938 in Southside, TN to the late Willie Mae Vaughn.

In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by his son, Louis Ramey, Jr. and brothers: Earl Vaughn, William Ramey, and Winford Ramey. Louis is survived by his loving wife, Vera Nicholson Ramey; son, James (Arlene) Killebrew; daughters, Tammy Ramey and Quentessa (Eric) Wynn; sister, Lillian (Sam) Woodring; grandchildren; great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, and nephews, and friends.

He attended school in the Clarksville Montgomery County School System. He was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witness on November 5, 2014. He immediately took hold of God's hand and served him faithfully as a member of the South Congregation in Clarksville, TN and later joined the Ashland City Congregation in Ashland City, TN. He was active in both places and very seldom missed meeting with our friends.

To know Louis was to love him. He was not one to turn away from family or friends, but have them the attention and encouragement that sometimes was lacking in their lives. He loved to fish and was eager to go every chance that he got. He was not a big talker, but he would always put a smile on people's faces and joy in their hearts. He always managed to get the last word.  I could never find the words to match his answers.

On November 1, 1985, Louis and I were married and shared thirty-six years of pure love and happiness. He was nicknamed "Hump" and I proudly wear the name "Mrs. Hump".

He was my faithful husband, my best friend, and a great father and grandfather. We as a family will truly miss him.

I have faith so when I think of you I'll think twice. I'll see you again in paradise.

Please visit Louis' tribute wall and share a memory with the family.
