Jackson Ray Robinson

1950-2021

Jackson "Jacky" Robinson, age 70 of Dickson, TN passed away at home on March 31, 2021.

He proudly served in the Army and fought in Vietnam. He earned the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal W/1 Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. He later went on to work for Sears, retiring after 35 years of service.

He never met a stranger. If you were ever in need for repairs, he would do anything he could to help you out whether he knew you or not. He was the smartest, most down to earth person you could ever meet and could literally fix anything (even though he would humbly correct us and say that isn’t true). If he didn’t know how to repair something, he would spend hours on Google or YouTube until he figured it out and then quietly "celebrate" his victory by building a fire in the backyard and drinking a beverage. If you ever had the pleasure of meeting him, then you know him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Azelia Garton Robinson; sister, Sandra Robinson; daughter, Sarah Robinson; bonus daughters, Wendy Avery (Bobby), Kandy Hirt (Daryl), Brandy Webb (Jake); nine bonus grandchildren and 4 bonus great grandchildren. He is processed in death by his father, William Robinson; his mother Ingeberg; and two brothers, Bill and George.

To respect his wishes, he is being cremated with no services being held. He always expressed that any celebration of life for him should only include a bonfire and a beverage.
