Cheryl Ann (Johnson) Roe

June 17, 1956 — May 15, 2023

Cheryl Ann (Johnson) Roe, age 66, died in Clarksville, Tennessee on Monday, May, 15, 2023. She began her lifelong career as a nurse at the Montgomery County Joint Vocational School (now the Miami Valley Career Technology Center, Dayton, Ohio) with her graduating class of 1974 and then completed nursing school with the Dayton School of Practical Nursing. She went on to work at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton, Ohio, where she was also born, before transitioning to a charge nurse responsible for compliance management at various long term care facilities in Dayton, Ohio and Crossville, Tennessee. Even after retiring after 30 years in the profession, she never quit being a nurse.

Mrs. Roe married Lennie Dwain Roe in 1978, and went on to share three children, of whom both she and their father were immensely proud. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lennie; parents, Ronald and Rozelle (Range) Johnsonl; and sister, Julie Lynn (Johnson) Goff, and daughter-in-law, Christina Beth Roe. She is survived by her three children: Beth Ann Manor (Marc) of Brookville, Ohio, Matthew Scott Roe (Jess) of Seymour, Wisconsin, and Lisa Catherine Authier (Philip) of Clarksville, Tennessee. She is also survived by the most important people of her last 14 years, her grandchildren: William Jason Manor (13), Madelynn Elizabeth Roe (12), Carson Evan Roe (10), Evelyn Rose Authier (9), Jacob Philip Authier (3), and the most recent addition, Gideon Rees Roe (7 weeks). She is also survived by her sisters-in-laws, Carol Roe of Miamisburg, Shirley Roe Stroup of Beavercreek; brother-in-law, David Goff of Middletown, Ohio; brother, Clell Bruce Johnson, of Jamestown, Tennessee; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

A Memorial service will be held at First Christian Church of Huber Heights, Ohio on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 2:00 PM, officiated by Pastor David McClary. Family and friends are invited for fellowship and food after the service in the fellowship hall, called “The Forge” immediately following the service from 3:00-6:00 PM that afternoon.

Mrs. Roe will be interned at Fellowship Community Church, 4450 Rugby Pike, Allardt, Tennessee 38504, on Monday, June 19, 2023 at 11:00 AM CST. There will be a Celebration of Life open house on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 from 5:00-8:00 PM at her daughter Lisa's home at 513 Windsor Drive Clarksville, TN 37043 for her many friends and family in Clarksville, Tennessee.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Staff Appreciation Fund for Signature Health Care of Clarksville in thanks to the nurses, staff, and all of those who took care of Mrs. Roe in her last two years. Donations may be given to Lisa Authier or may be contributed via Venmo to Kimberly-Watkins-102.
