Cheryl Ann Battista

April 14, 1958 — November 11, 2022

Cheryl Ann Battista, 64, long-time resident of Hindsboro, died Friday, November 11, 2022 at her home in Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

Born April 14, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Judy and John Battista. Cheryl had been battling cancer for the past two years, spending time in and out of care facilities.  However, her Lord and Savior saw fit to end her suffering and bring her home to the Kingdom of Heaven, for which we too, are thankful.  Her fight against cancer is over.

Cheryl, who was born and raised in Northern Illinois, made her home, and raised her children in Hindsboro, IL. She returned to Bolingbrook to care for her family before moving in with her son and his family moving from Texas to Oklahoma and finally Kentucky.

Survivors include her children, Robert (Sam) Battista, Ashley Schrock and Kim Schrock. She is also survived by her Granddaughter Aria, Uncle Keith (Sherry) Johnson, Aunt Diane(Glen) Cozzie and many nieces and nephews.

Cheryl loved to sew and made sure that her entire family had handcrafted blankets and quilts. This extended to her community friends and family as she was a part of many communities over her lifetime. She attended Antioch Separate Baptist Church in Oakland, IL and Westbrook Christian Church in Bolingbrook, IL where she volunteered for many programs including children’s ministry.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her sisters, Tina Thompson, Barb Parenti and Rose Brossart.

There will be a private internment and service with her closest relatives at a later date.
