Bobby Eugene Whitaker

Bobby "Opa" Eugene Whitaker, 71, passed away on May 17, 2022 at his residence after a long battle with cancer. He was born on August 14, 1950 in Springfield, TN to Albert Augusta and Ima Irene Hollman Whitaker.

Bobby was a manager of Waffle House for over 22 years and raised his grandchildren in the kitchen. He enjoyed to fish and watch NASCAR in his spare time. He loved spending quality time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Lucile and brother, Steve Whitaker. He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Brigitte Holzer Whitaker; daughter, Leslie Johnson; stepchildren: Frank, Kenneth, Andrea, and Michael Way; grandchildren: Matthew Way, Renee Golden, Arian Way, Olivia Golden, and Andrew McCall; and great grandchildren: Emmalynn, Cody, Lillian, and Elizabeth Way.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
