William Douglas Lyle, Jr.

February 19, 1949 — August 8, 2025

Clarksville

William Douglas Lyle, Jr. was born on February 19, 1949, to the late William D. Lyle, Sr. and Beulah Mae Shelton-Lyle. He was the eldest of twelve children.

Educated in Montgomery County, he graduated from Burt High School in Clarksville, Tennessee. He accepted Christ at an early age and remained a lifelong member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. A dedicated and hardworking man, he was employed as a laborer and retired from Precision Printing after a 30-year career.

Affectionately known as “Jr.,” he truly enjoyed life! He cherished time spent with family and friends, and he especially loved barbecuing, fishing, playing spades, horseshoes, and dancing!

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Keisha Dachell; sisters, Katie M. Lyle and Ella D. Lyle-Barker; brothers: John Edward L., Jerry TT., and Kenneth Lyle. Left to treasure his memory are his sons, Antoine (Tracey) Lyle of Clarksville, TN and Rev. Damien (Sherry) Lyle of New Bern, NC; brothers, Michael (Marva) J. Lyle of Mt. Juliet, TN and Norman E. Lyle of Clarksville, TN; sisters, Teresa A. Radcliff and Tanga “Faye” Lyle, both of Clarksville, TN; five granddaughters; five great- grandchildren; one uncle, Willie “Bubba” Roach of Clarksville, TN; best friend of more than 60 years, Bishop William H. Moss, Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 326 Southside Rd. Cunningham, TN 37052.
