William Xavier Farris

February 28, 1995 — May 19, 2024

Cumberland Furnace

My beloved son, William Xavier Farris, born on February 28, 1995 in Clarksville, Tennessee unexpectedly passed from this existence on May 19, 2024 at his home in Cumberland Furnace, Tennessee. Will was the kindest man I’ve ever known. He was gentle with animals, patient with children, and generous to those less fortunate. He was the sort of guy that would help even if it risked his safety, often going out of his way for people.

After years in the food service industry and home health field, he was employed at Bridgestone Metalpha. He was a respected employee and excelled at his job and quickly became HP Team Leader. William had a brilliant way with words and a wonderful sense of humor that will be missed by all who knew him. He was intelligent and wise beyond his years. Will never struggled with questions of right and wrong. He had an instinct for goodness and never betrayed it. He adored his mother and father, his beloved siblings, his girlfriend and her family, his friends he called family, and the pets he leaves behind. None of us were prepared to say goodbye.

Left to tell amazing stories of the greatest man we know are his loving mother, Linda Farris (Johnny Ferguson); adoring father, John Abshier (Rosie Franklin); two siblings, Wesley and Willow that will miss him more than words can describe; the love of his life, Katlyne Williams; maternal grandfather, William Wilson (Robyn) for whom Will was named after; grandfather, Donald Abshier; and many aunts, uncles, and a host of cousins near and far. He also leaves behind his rescue pets that he loved so much. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Catherine Wilson; uncle, Michael Wilson; and grandmother, Ingrid Abshier.

If you’d like to gather with us and share memories and pictures, a very casual “come as you are” Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at 1:00 PM, at Dock 17, 2231 Madison Street Suite D.

Please visit William's tribute wall and share a memory with the family.
