Palmyra

Raymond John Harris Jr., a devoted husband, beloved father, and cherished brother, passed away peacefully at home on February 8, 2026.

Raymond was born on November 1, 1945, in Jersey City, New Jersey, to Raymond J. Harris Sr. and Emma Harris. He attended school through the sixth grade before moving with his family to El Paso, Texas, in 1957. After several years in Texas, the family relocated to Lompoc, California, where Raymond graduated from Lompoc Senior High School in 1965.

While in high school, Raymond was an exceptional all-star basketball player, setting records and earning the honor of having his jersey number retired following his senior year. He also held the record for fastest 100yard dash which was displayed in the gym for several years. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army, proudly serving his country for more than 20 years before retiring. During his military service, Raymond trained as a dental technician, a skill he continued to use after retirement when he opened a small independent dental laboratory in Tennessee.

Raymond was a devoted father to his daughter, Mira (Harris) White, who was his pride and joy. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of more than 40 years, Micha Harris.

He is survived by his current wife, Hui Ping; his daughter, Mira White; son-in-law, Duane White; and grandson, Jacob White. Raymond is also survived by his siblings in California: Carol Sweet, Beatrice Sanderson, Richard Harris, Deanna Koska, Barbara McConn, and Evelyn Keaton, along with many nieces and nephews who will forever cherish the memories he shared with them.

Service information will be announced at a later date.
