Sadie Mae Frye, 64, of Clarksville, TN passed away peacefully on September 6, 2026, surrounded by family who loved her dearly. She was born June 12, 1962, in Alcolu, SC, to the late Matthew Epps Jr. and Vivian Kennedy Epps.
Raised in Alcolu, South Carolina, Sadie was shaped by the love of family and the values that remained with her throughout her life.
Sadie’s life was a beautiful reminder that every moment is precious and every life has purpose. When she was born, doctors told her family that she likely would not live more than a few days. But Sadie had other plans. Through strength, determination, and the love that surrounded her, she defied the odds and went on to live 64 wonderful years, leaving behind a legacy that will never be forgotten.
As a tiny baby, Sadie was so small that she slept in a little shoebox placed inside a drawer. A special little bed lovingly made by her grandfather. That small box held a precious life that would grow into a woman who would touch countless hearts, inspire many, and teach others the true meaning of love and kindness.
From an early age, Sadie’s heart was drawn to the love and grace of Jehovah. She embraced her faith wholeheartedly and was baptized in 1979, beginning a lifelong walk of devotion and service. As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Sadie’s faith was at the very heart of who she was. Her love for Jehovah guided her life and shaped the way she treated others. She embodied compassion, kindness, humility, and grace, always striving to make people feel valued, respected, and loved. She had a special way of showing others what it truly meant to care, not only through her words, but through the way she lived each day.
Through every season of life, including its trials and sorrows, Sadie remained steadfast in her faith and gentle in spirit. She carried a deep sense of gratitude for Jehovah’s many blessings and faced life’s challenges with humility and grace. Her unwavering trust in Jehovah provided her comfort in difficult moments and remained a constant light along her journey. Above all, Sadie lived with a thankful heart, always mindful of the goodness she had received and the love that surrounded her.
For 43 beautiful years, Sadie shared a loving marriage filled with devotion, friendship, and countless memories. Her marriage was a testament to commitment, love, and the importance of standing beside one another through all of life’s seasons. The love and bond she shared with Stan was one of the greatest blessings of her life.
Sadie found happiness in the simple moments that meant the most. She loved traveling with her husband and nephews, meeting new people, gardening at home, teaching, talking on the phone with family and friends, teaching her students and spending time surrounded by the people she loved most. Some of her favorite memories were made during trips to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Orange Beach, Alabama, where she created beautiful moments that her family will treasure forever.
Sadie was truly a remarkable woman whose life was a beautiful reflection of love, faith, compassion, and grace. Those who knew Sadie will forever cherish her gentle spirit, her unwavering faith, her wisdom, and the warmth she brought into their lives. She leaves behind memories that will be treasured, lessons that will be carried forward, and a love that will never be forgotten.
Sadie’s story began with a miracle and continued as a gift to everyone who knew her. Her love, wisdom, laughter, faith, and example will continue to live on through the people whose lives she touched. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of kindness and love will remain forever.
Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband of 43 years, Husband: Stan Frye, Siblings, Helen McFadden, Matthew Epps III, Calvin Epps, and Marvin Epps. She also leaves behind a host of loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, students, and faithful friends
