Rebecca Ann Glass

Dr. Rebecca Glass, 74, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2025, at her home in Clarksville, Tennessee. She was born in Jemison, Alabama, on October 22, 1951, the daughter of Hoyt William Glass and Betty Campbell Glass.

Becky attended Asbury College in Wilmore, KY, the University of Montevallo in Alabama, and Auburn University in Alabama. Her coaching and teaching career included Jemison High School, as well as those universities, and for the last 32 years, Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee, where she was a professor in the Department of Health and Human Performance and served in several leadership positions.

Becky had a love for all things pertaining to nature and outdoors. From an early age, she participated in all types of sports and continued those activities all of her life. Her main love was hiking the many trails of the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. She loved her friends and family and everyone who knew her, returned that love to her. She was a kind, giving, selfless person and shared her knowledge and talents with many.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Hoyt and Betty Glass, brothers-in-law Donald Davenport, Don McAfee, and Roy Mulhorn, and niece, Alicia Dobbs. She is survived by sisters, Shirley Mulhorn and Sandy Davenport of Clanton, AL., and brother Robert (Brenda) Glass of Billingsley, AL., and long time special friend, Cheryl Holt of Clarksville, TN.

Her nieces and nephews loved their Aunt Becky and those include Brent (Kerri) Davenport, Cassie (Craig) Bolling, Dawn (Nathan) Pruet, Clint (Emily) Glass, Brooke (Grey) Foster, Brady (Kendall Sanders) Bolling, Trevor and Austin Pruet, Kase and Kolsyn Foster, Levi and Jake Glass.

The family and Cheryl wish to especially thank Alisa Milton for her special love, friendship, and care for Becky over the last few months.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 12:00 noon, at First Methodist Church in Clanton, Alabama, with Rev. Wes Kelley officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

A private family service will be held that afternoon at Rocky Mount Community Cemetery in Jemison, Alabama.
