Mark Anthony Hughes

Mark Anthony Hughes, 61, passed away on December 12, 2025, in Clarksville, TN. Born on June 25, 1964, Mark graduated from Northeast High School in 1981 and dedicated 30 years of his life working at Riverbend Maximum Security Institution, retiring in 2017.

Mark was a passionate fan of the Dallas Cowboys and enjoyed watching NASCAR races, indulging in the thrill and excitement of each event. His loyalty to his team and his love for motorsports were among his most cherished pastimes.

He is survived by his wife, Rita Hughes; step children, Kayla Smith and Bryant Torres; step-grandchildren: Braddon Smith. Saleen Smith, and Canaan Pennington; and his brother, Colie Hughes. Mark was preceded in death by his father, Pete Hughes; mother, Hilda Long Hughes; and brother, Greg Hughes.

Mark's life will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his career, and the joy he found in his hobbies. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
