Linda Lee Floyd (Bartee)

Linda Floyd (Bartee), a cherished mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on August 10, 2026, just shy of her 82nd birthday. Born on August 20, 1944, in Clarksville, Tennessee, she was the beloved daughter of Melvin and Frances Bartee, who, along with her sister Peggy, preceded her in death.

Linda was a devoted mother to her daughters, Rita Gibbs, Dana Pruitt, and Tera Clay. Her family was the cornerstone of her life, and she found immense joy in spending time with her family, creating precious memories that will be cherished forever. Her brother, Mark Bartee, and his wife Kay, as well as 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren remain to honor her memory, continuing the legacy of love and kindness that Linda so effortlessly embodied.

A woman of intelligence and dedication, Linda built a distinguished career in banking and finance, culminating in her role as Vice President of Operations for Southeast Financial Credit Union. Her leadership and commitment were an inspiration to colleagues and clients alike, earning her respect and admiration throughout her career.

Beyond her professional achievements, Linda was a woman of many passions. Her green thumb was evident in the beautiful gardens she lovingly tended, where she found peace and contentment among her plants and flowers. Her generosity and kindness were well-known, and her warm smile and gentle spirit touched many lives.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Elmer and Diane Patterson for their loving care over the last five years. Their unwavering dedication and compassion were a source of great comfort and strength, and they have become more than friends—they are family.

In honor of Linda’s life and legacy, a private funeral ceremony will be held. Those wishing to pay tribute to Linda are encouraged to make donations in her memory to Dementia Society of America, located in Doylestown, PA. This organization holds a special place in the hearts of her family, as they continue their efforts in dementia research and care.

As we remember Linda, we celebrate a life well-lived—a life filled with love, laughter, and an unyielding kindness that left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy will continue to inspire and bring comfort to those who loved her.
