Judy Ann Franklin Staggs was born on January 17, 1943, in Indianapolis, Indiana. The daughter of Raymond Franklin and Martha Franklin Whittington, she was raised in Danville, IN, where she attended Danville High School. She married the love of her life, Noel Dean Staggs, on March 31, 1962.
She is survived by one son, Scott Staggs (Kathey) of Clarksville, TN; three daughters: Shelly Kirk (Jason) of Copperas Cove, TX, Susan Dillinger of Pine Bluff, AR, Stacy Peyton (Mike) of Sherwood, AR; two bonus daughters, Martie Taylor of Siloam Springs, AR and Joanna Collins of Heber Springs, AR. She had nine grandchildren: Jason, Eric, Danna, Kandice, Caleb, Brooke, Emily, Ashley, and Camryn; 17 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; one sister, Linda McDonald; three brothers: Ray Franklin (Harolyn), Joe Franklin (Rhonda), and Johnny Franklin (Jackie); and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Judy raised her family in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, where she was an active member of Good Faith United Methodist Church. She was always the Girls Scout and Cub Scout leader for all four of her children. She welcomed all the neighborhood kids into her home with open arms, earning it the title of “The Kool-Aid House”. Upon retirement in 2004, they moved to Heber Springs, AR. After Noel passed away in 2013, she moved to Clarksville, TN, where she spent her last years surrounded by family and her beloved dogs.
A Celebration of Life service will be held in Heber Springs, AR, later this spring.
In lieu of flowers, Judy requested donations be sent to Heifer International, Gideons International, or your local animal shelter.
