John left behind his partner, Virginia Couey; sister, Janell (Pat) Acree; brother, Michael Sykes; adopted brother, Gary Brooks; nephew, Shawn (Ashley) Stallings; 5 great nieces and nephews; adopted son, Fred Jones; adopted daughter, Jana Bourne; adopted grandchildren, Nicholas and Talia; and many friends.
