John Michael Sodora

John Michael "Mike" Sodora was born on October 8, 1954, and went home to be with the Lord on December 31, 2024. While our hearts are broken by his loss, we are forever grateful for the love, laughter, and memories he gave us.

Mike loved Jesus with all his heart, and his faith was the foundation of his life. He was a proud Italian-American who loved his family, enjoyed a good meal, and never missed an opportunity to share a story, offer advice, or tell a joke. If you knew Mike, you knew he could make anyone smile. His smile, laughter, and sense of humor were contagious.

He had a gift for fixing things. Whether it was working on cars, repairing something around the house, or helping someone solve a problem, Mike was happiest when he could use his hands and his knowledge to help others. He also loved hunting, fishing, cheering on the Chicago Bears, watching sports, and listening to his favorite artist, Elvis Presley.

Mike loved talking with people, debating just about anything, sharing advice, and making everyone around him laugh. He had a sharp mind, a generous heart, and an outgoing personality that drew people to him. If someone needed help, Mike was there without hesitation.

Of all the roles he held in life, being a dad and grandpa meant the most to him. His greatest joy was his family. He is lovingly survived by his daughter, Christina "Chrissy" and her husband Paul; his sons, Michael and Tony; and his beloved grandchildren, who brought endless happiness to his life; and his sister, Donna. The love he had for his children, grandchildren and family was unconditional, and they will carry his love with them always.

Mike leaves behind a legacy of faith, kindness, laughter, hard work, and love. He showed us that life is meant to be lived with generosity, humor, compassion, and adventure. Although he is no longer with us, his stories will continue to be told, his jokes will continue to bring smiles, and his love will remain in our hearts forever.

We find peace knowing that Mike is now in the presence of the Savior he loved so dearly. Until we meet again, he will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
