Heather Marie Fernandez (Madson)

Heather Marie Fernandez, 49, of Clarksville, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly on June 27, 2024. Heather was born on June 18, 1975, in Albert Lea, Minnesota, and grew up in Faribault, Minnesota, where she graduated high school. Being a former military wife, she lived in many different places in the U.S., including San Antonio, Texas; Tacoma, Washington; Fairbanks, Alaska; and Clarksville, Tennessee.

Heather is survived by her son, Joseph Gutierrez; her cherished granddaughter, Juliana Gutierrez; her father, Jon (Laura) Trovati; her brothers, Jack (Wendy) Trovato and Cole (Julie) Dasheur; and her faithful dog, Lucius. She also leaves behind aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, a niece, and friends who will deeply miss her. She was preceded in death by her mother, Susan Wallace; and her grandparents: Edna and LeRoy Shocker and John Wallace.

Heather was known for her deep love of dogs and her caring nature. She had a heart of gold and was always there for the people in her life. Her infectious laugh and whip-smart sense of humor brought joy to everyone around her. Her kindness and generosity touched many, and she will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.

A Celebration of Heather’s Life will be held on September 15, 2024 at 2:00 PM, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1360 Albers Path, Faribault, MN 55021. Interment is tentatively scheduled for September 17, 2024, at Graceland Cemetery, 1800 W. Main Street, Albert Lea, MN. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Heather's memory to a cause near and dear to her heart, the Glioblastoma Research Organization.

Heather’s spirit and love will live on in the memories of those who knew and loved her. She will be missed by many.
