SFC Harold Richard Pedigo, ARMY (Ret)

With deep love and cherished remembrance, we announce the passing of Harold Richard Pedigo, a devoted husband, beloved father, proud grandfather and great-grandfather, loyal friend, and honorable veteran. Harold passed away at his home in Clarksville, TN on July 19th, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of strength, warmth, and unwavering dedication.

Born on April 5, 1936, to Jack Pedigo and Carrie Nichols, Harold grew up with a passion for life and a heart built for service. On June 1, 1955, he married the love of his life, Virginia Rhea Sandefur, in Rossville, GA. Together, they shared 70 beautiful years of marriage, built on deep love, respect, and shared experiences.

Harold dedicated two decades of his life to the United States Army, retiring in 1982 after a distinguished career, which included a tour of duty in Vietnam from 1965–1966. His commitment to his country was matched only by his commitment to his family. He exemplified the very best of the American spirit—resilient, dependable, and humble in service. Upon retirement, he made his home in Clarksville, TN, and built a beloved lakeside retreat on Barkley Lake in Cadiz, KY. That cabin became a sacred gathering place where laughter echoed, stories were passed down, and generations came together under Harold’s strong, guiding presence. He especially treasured the time spent there with his grandchildren, creating memories that will live on forever.

Those who knew Harold will remember his extraordinary ability to build and repair just about anything—his hands were skilled, and his heart even more so. A gifted outdoorsman, Harold found peace in nature and joy in sharing those experiences with the people he loved. Whether it was trout fishing in Lebanon, MO or chasing Crappie and White Bass at Milford Lake near Ft. Riley, KS, Harold found the quiet magic of life in those moments by the water.

Harold is preceded in death by his dear sister, Katherine Gasser. He is survived by his loving wife, Virginia Rhea Pedigo; his devoted son, Richard Wayne Pedigo; his caring sister, Jenann Pedigo Brown; two adored grandchildren, Amber Dawn Bell and Crystal Eve Pedigo; and two great-grandchildren who lit up his world, Blake Anton Bohm and Grayson Wayne Bell.

Though our hearts are heavy, we celebrate the journey of a man who gave his all—to his family, his country, and everyone lucky enough to know him. Rest easy, Harold. You were deeply loved and will be forever missed.
