Gary Ray Ellis

Gary Ray Ellis, age 77, transitioned to his Heavenly home on May 5, 2026. He passed peacefully at his residence with his family by his side.

Gary was born in Clarksville, TN on January 31, 1949 to the late Robert and Maxine Ellis.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents and two siblings, Bobby Ellis and Annette Ellis.

Gary is survived by his wife, Sandra Sheppard Ellis; two children, Dean (Tish) Ellis, and Melissa (Steve) Carver; three grandchildren, Brittany (Vonte) Henderson, Heather Norris (Blaide Smith), and Kristine Ellis; two great-grandchildren, Brysen Ray Henderson and Ava Rae Henderson; and four siblings, Linda Ellis, Dale Ellis, Max Ellis, and Mickey Ellis.

Gary worked as a mechanical contractor throughout KY and TN, but his favorite title of all was “BooBoo.” His girls, who he lovingly called his “Sugarsmacks,” were his pride and joy. Later in life, BooBoo got a kick out of becoming a great-grandpa, always putting much emphasis on what made him so great--- his two great-grandchildren.

Gary’s greatest joy was his family--- and his love will forever be with them.

To honor his wishes, there will be no formal funeral services.
