Francis X Sterling, Sr.

Francis X Sterling, Sr. passed away quietly on April 24, 2023.

Francis, most commonly known as ‘Bud’, was born to Bradford and Alice Sterling, on June 3, 1943, in Patterson, New Jersey. He was an avid football player in high school and loved his convertible with the hand cranked roof (because the power part was broken). After high school, Bud could be described as a very hard worker with many career paths and often working two jobs.

In addition to his parents, Bud is preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine. He is survived by his three children: Stacy (Glenn) Trautmann, Jennifer (Scott) Brower, and Bud, Jr. (Kim); ten grandchildren: Leah, Karli, Taylor, Jordan, Jodi, Courtney, Heather, Lindsay, Lachlan, and Pete; five great grandchildren: Nicholas, Parker, Stella, Jack, and Lucy; brother, Brad (Marge); sister, Judy (Phil); and many nieces and nephews.

Aside from being a very hard worker, Bud had a passion for golf and later became a keen pool player. Bud was always quick to say hello and crack a
joke with everyone around, a constant kidder. He enjoyed taking walks, listening to the oldies on the radio, the weekly bingo game, and had a new found fondness for country music. Bud enjoyed car rides and seeing different parts of the country in the last two years.

We will always think of him with a smile, hitting the long ball, eating all the pizza and PB&J, and black raspberry ice cream, and reunited with Geri.

Bud’s daughters will host a Celebration of Life luncheon at a later date in New Jersey.
