Debra Kim Miller, 66, passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 11, 2025. She was born on August 8, 1959 in San Fransisco, CA to Charles and Nancy Thompson who preceded her in death. She was a beloved wife, loving mother, and nana.
Deb is survived by her husband, Michael; children, Nick and Stef; grandchildren: Alden, Oliver, Laurel Bell, and Tabitha; brothers, Rickey and David; and sister, Jackie.
Passionate about crafting, she was a lifelong artist who loved nothing more than sharing her passion with her beloved Grandchildren. She was also a lover of travel, sunny beaches, and getting outside in mother nature.
Always a supporter of her Husband’s military career, she volunteered to serve as both a Company and Battalion FRG (Family Readiness Group) leader during her husband’s deployments to Desert Storm, Cambodia, Uphold Democracy in Haiti, OIF, and OEF. As the Battalion FRG leader of 6th Battalion 101 St. Aviation Brigade, she supported all the family members here at home and welcomed every inbound flight of all the awaiting military families of their loved ones return from a long 15-month combat rotation.
Deb was a believer in Christ, naturally beautiful, passionate, and athletic with a hearty laugh and love of life. She loved 60’s music, dance, and world travel. In 2009 with both her adult children Nick and Stef and husband deployed to combat zones, Deb asked her husband if he could retire so they both spend more time together enjoying life’s moments. Her husband lovingly obliged and entered the teaching arena to better support their shared love over the summer breaks. Fully retired by 60 the couple continued to travel, enjoy time with family and life’s moments.
Although a shorter life than she would have liked, Deb led a truly wonderful life and will be dearly missed by those who loved her till we meet again in the hereafter.
Deb did not desire a formal ceremony after death but upon receiving her terminal diagnoses wished only to see and love her immediate family and grands for a celebration of life while still alive. A wish and blessing that was passionately blessed by all for which she is forever grateful.
