Cynthia Ann “Cindy” McBride, age 63, passed away on November 15, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and service. She was born on February 11, 1962, in Omaha, Nebraska, to John and Mary McDaniel.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Robert McBride, and her three children: Jeremiah (Lisa), Jonathon (Sarah), and Desiree. To those who knew her casually she was “Cindy,” but to her family she was “Mom” or “Mom Mom”—a role she cherished most. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy, and their time together was treasured beyond measure.
Cindy’s life was defined by compassion and community. She touched countless lives, not only those she knew personally but also many she never met. She was deeply involved in outreach efforts, including suicide prevention programs, food and clothing donations, and community events such as Mission of Hope and veteran suicide prevention initiatives.
As a registered nurse, Cindy dedicated her career to helping others. She served in many roles—from the emergency room to elder care—but found her true passion in mental health care, especially supporting veterans. Her career included service at the VA in Clarksville, Blanchfield Army Community Hospital at Fort Campbell, Western State Hospital, Jenny Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville, and Heartstone Place in Elkton, Kentucky.
Beyond her professional life, Cindy loved spending time with family. Whether swimming, cruising the Bahamas, helping her daughter with projects, or enjoying tanking trips with her parents in Nebraska, she found joy in every adventure. She also opened her heart to those she took under her wing, extending her family through love and kindness.
Cindy’s smile and laughter were gifts to all who encountered her. Her family, friends, and community will forever feel the depth of her loss, but her spirit of generosity and care will continue to inspire.
A Celebration of Life will be held on November 21, 2025 from 5:00 to 9:00 PM at the Guthrie Senior Center at 233 S Ewing Street, Guthrie, KY 42234.
