Cynthia Sue Hagewood, 78, of Eva, Tennessee, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 16, 1946, in Rives, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late William Eugene Thomas and Margaret Harris Thomas.

Sue is preceded in death by her parents, as well as her sisters: Mildred Thomas, Wanda Satterfield, and Christine Martin. She is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years and high school sweetheart, Robert D. Hagewood; her children, Bradley Hagewood (Leigh) and Michael Hagewood; her cherished grandchildren: Garrett Hagewood (Holli), Chelsi Hogan (Matt), Brady Hagewood, and Kaylee Collins (Jeffery); and her treasured great-grandchildren: Warren, Lynleigh, Whitten, Peyton, Walker, and Riley Jo (due February 2026). She also leaves behind her beloved siblings: Ed Thomas (Sheila), Charlotte Higgins (Jerry), Nancy Crow (Tom), Jim Thomas (Denise), and John Thomas.

Sue built a beautiful life and home, always welcoming friends and family with open arms. She had a vibrant spirit and a flair for style, loving fashion, sparkle, and all things “bling.” She enjoyed traveling, fishing, boating, and—above all—spending time with her family. Music was a constant joy in her life, and she loved to dance, even in her later days. Her warmth, laughter, and generous heart touched everyone she met, and her legacy of love will live on through those who knew her.

We, the Hagewood family, are deeply grateful to all staff members of Brookdale Clarksville and Gentiva Hospice, both past and present, for their compassionate care and unwavering support for Sue and all our family.

Services to celebrate Sue’s life will be held at a date later announced in Eva, TN. The family invites you to honor her memory by donating to The Walk to End Alzheimer’s at act.alz.org/goto/michael_fsr
