Chris was born in Kankakee, IL on March 14, 1953 to Lyle and Marilyn (Sennholtz) Weber. She had a successful career at Nucor Steel in Kankakee, and in retirement enjoyed working at Walmart in Bourbonnais, IL and Clarksville, TN, where she made many friends. Chris’s faith and family were the most important things to her. She loved family vacations with her grandchildren and spending time with them. Every Sunday Chris could be found watching football, with the Chicago Bears, Tennessee Titans, and Pittsburgh Steelers being her favorite teams. She also enjoyed the Chicago Cubs and listening to Waylon Jennings.
Chris is survived by her father, Lyle Weber of Manteno, IL; daughter, Becky (Edward) Dipman of Clarksville, TN; and son, Christopher Jason (Carrie) Hansen of Channahon, IL. Also surviving are her precious grandchildren: Katelyn (Shaun) Wheeler, Hayley Hansen, Zachary Sievers, Kelsey Dipman, Alexis Sievers, and Austin Sievers; great grandchildren, Kaleb Allard and Camden Wheeler; brothers, Scott (Diane) Weber and Richard (Lora) Weber; along with many nieces and nephews. Chris is preceded in death by her loving husband, William “Bill” G. Hansen and mother, Marilyn Weber.
As it was her final wish, cremation rites have been accorded, and all family and friends are invited to celebrate Chris’s life on May 9, 2024 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Kankakee, IL at 10:00 AM, officiated by the Rev. Karl Koeppen, with interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL at 12:30 PM, where she will be buried with her husband, Bill.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Christine’s name may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Kankakee.
