Cathy Strand (Vogan)

Cathy Strand, 73, passed away on January 1, 2024 in Clarksville, Tennessee. She was born on November 16, 1950 in Pasadena, California to the late Howard and Sylvia Vogan. 

Cathy was preceded in death by her brother, John. Cathy is survived by her loving children and their spouses, Dawn and Matt Ellis, and Michael and Olga Strand. She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, Havana Strand and Michael Strand, Jr. Cathy also leaves behind nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory.

Cathy attended Granada Hills High School and later pursued higher education at California State University - Northridge. She raised her own children in Georgetown, TX and enjoyed her early retirement years in Colorado Spring, Colorado before returning to Texas to care for her mother. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Walburg, TX, where she found solace and community.

In her free time, Cathy enjoyed gardening, reading books, and spoiling her children and grandchildren. She had a fondness for her dogs and was known for her love of antiquing.

A memorial service will be held at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville, Texas on Saturday, 1 June at 10:00 am.

The family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a local animal shelter in Cathy's memory.
