Beverly Ann Flankey (Samppala)

Beverly Ann Flankey, 87, passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2025 at Tennova Healthcare in Clarksville, TN. She was born on September 8, 1938, in Virginia, MN to Walla and Ann Samppala.

After graduation from Mountain Iron High School, Bev went on to be a hairdresser and later a teachers aide. She resided in Cloquet and on Lake Vermilion, but in 2007 moved to be closer to grandchildren in Tennessee. She was an accomplished artist and many of her paintings were featured in the Art Guild at Fairfield Glade, TN.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Fred (Bucky) Flankey; both parents; and her brother, Walfred (Sonny) Samppala.

She is survived by her sons: Steven (Laurie), Todd (Carrie), and Dale; granddaughters, Stacy (Eric) Scism and Amber (Stephen) Owens; and four great-grandchildren.

We invite you to share in a ceremony with family and friends, which will take place at 12:00 PM, Monday, October 20, 2025 at the Greenwood Cemetery in Virginia, MN.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, October 20, 2025 at the City of Mountain Community Center, 8586 Enterprise Drive.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Cloquet Educational Foundation.
